Capacity building
From 2007 onwards Knowing Children will offer a programme of capacity building opportunities to support the vision of rights-based, scientific information for all policies and programmes for children.
The courses will normally take place in Bangkok and are aimed at developing the capacity of professionals in child protection in developing countries.

English for child protection specialists:
Two hours a week with qualified teachers who are native English-speakers. Intended for Thai staff of child protection agencies. Intermediate and advanced levels. For further details contact Khun Nong at admin@knowingchildren.org
Researching children
How to carry out rights-based scientific research with children, in which a small group of participants learns through carrying out their own research, usually on a theme related to their daily work. The course consist of 14 weeks total – two residential full-time in Bangkok, 12 part-time at home base with online tuition:
- Residential course: one week in Bangkok learning the principles of planning research, data collection with children, ethical strategies, and developing a researchers’ manual;
- Supported learning during data collection: eight weeks’ online learning with personal tuition on data collection and data processing;
- Residential course: one week in Bangkok learning analysis and report writing skills;
- Further supported learning for four weeks during report writing with personal online tuition.
