Riccardo Lucchini

lucchiThe Swiss social scientist Riccardo Lucchini began his higher education in the University of Berne, where he gained a Masters degree in economics abd sociology in 1965, followed by doctoral degrees from the University of Berne (1969) and Fribourg (1973). He also studied at the University of Kiel, where he was an Assistante Scientifique from 1967 to 1969. From 1970 he taught at the University of Fribourg, where he was made Emeritus Porfessor in 2004. Riccardo has also lectured at many other universities in both Europe and the Americas. During his time in Friboug he held the positions of Vice Rector (1971-1975, Head of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (FSES) (1984-1985), Président of the Commission on Tecahing Evaluation (1999-2003) and Chair of the Department of Social Sciences in FSES (2001-2003). In addition to this distinguished teaching career he has carried out extensive research inGermany, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras on topics ranging from the sociology of facism, drug dependency, children living on the streets and domestic violence, on which topics he has published widely.
